I have fallen head over heels in Lust with Venice and all it’s prettiness…. It is without a doubt ruined by tourists but also without a doubt, one of the prettiest and fairytale-esque places I have had the chance to visit….The winding, narrows lanes and streets are filled with tiny wine bars and eateries, each one more delicious than the next. Some of my favourite few minutes in Venice were spent at the bar of a tiny venetian coffee shop eating cornetti and drinking coffee. I also loved sitting along the canals in the dusky evening drinking prosecco and people-watching. So relaxing and so entertaining. We made sure to walk as far as possible from the main tourist hubs to find the most authentic Italian restaurants, bars and shops and made sure that there was lots of locals anywhere we went. Always a good sign! I cannot get enough of the Gelato and Caprese Salad here…Mmmmm!
I was absolutely in awe in the Venetian mask shops, taking in the artistic talents of some of the mask-makers. Just exquisite!
I have moved on to Florence now so I cannot wait to explore it…I am getting closer to those vineyards!!!
I wore my polka-dot, pleated skirt from Warehouse with a striped t-shirt I picked up in America last summer and a bright necklace from H&M whilst wandering the streets of Venice.
