Celebrate Yourself! xoxo

15.10.12

It’s been a busy weekend…. I have also been sick with stupid flu so I kept photos to a minimum. I have also changed my hair so I am getting used to that and wondering if blondes do or do not have more fun! I went out to celebrate my birthday with some friends this weekend…Tapas & Prosecco, the perfect combo!

I went to the re-opening party of Verso Boutique and got a gorgeous gold sequinned mini skirt and a mustard shirt with a gorgeous leather detail on the neck which I wore for my Birthday Celebrations. Verso stocks some fabulous day and night wear so pop down there, whatever the occasion!

Yesterday was spent nursing my hangover by eating gelato and pasta…I could have been back in Venice if it wasn’t for the cold autumnal air. I wore my new fluffy knit again from Oasis with a black shirt and blinged it up with a pin I found on an old Marie Antoinette Halloween costume, mixed in some florals, some pink tights and my black studded Topshop booties. Reading that back, I went a bit mad!? It’s my Birthday, I can go OTT if I want to!

Under the Tuscan Sun…

Whoever said Florence was the most romantic city in Italy has never been to Venice! However, it has to be said that there is something wonderfully enchanting about standing high up in a city and looking out to rolling hills and countryside views. I have completely fallen in love with the culture and lifestyle of the Italians. I love their passion for celebrating food and drink…My kind of people! I tried a Tuscan delight- Cheese and Pear Ravioli which is Ah-mazing! Such a tasty dish mixing sweet and savoury…May just have to have it again this evening.

The shopping so far in Florence has only really been mediocre. I did see two Zaras right across the street from each other which was weird but of course wonderful because of my obsession. I am now taking a break from the bustling city and from the sun which decided to come out today but I intend on going hunting down some vintage shops later to see if I can find any Italian Lust Haves…..

Ciao xoxo

In the Twinkling of an Eye…..

I have fallen head over heels in Lust with Venice and all it’s prettiness…. It is without a doubt ruined by tourists but also without a doubt, one of the prettiest and fairytale-esque places I have had the chance to visit….The winding, narrows lanes and streets are filled with tiny wine bars and eateries, each one more delicious than the next. Some of my favourite few minutes in Venice were spent at the bar of a tiny venetian coffee shop eating cornetti and drinking coffee. I also loved sitting along the canals in the dusky evening drinking prosecco and people-watching. So relaxing and so entertaining. We made sure to walk as far as possible from the main tourist hubs to find the most authentic Italian restaurants, bars and shops and made sure that there was lots of locals anywhere we went. Always a good sign! I cannot get enough of the Gelato and Caprese Salad here…Mmmmm!

I was absolutely in awe in the Venetian mask shops, taking in the artistic talents of some of the mask-makers. Just exquisite!

I have moved on to Florence now so I cannot wait to explore it…I am getting closer to those vineyards!!!

I wore my polka-dot, pleated skirt from Warehouse with a striped t-shirt I picked up in America last summer and a bright necklace from H&M whilst wandering the streets of Venice.

Love Locks all over Venice xoxo
